Radius Raid is Absurdly Fun

Radius Raid is a canvas game written by Jack Rugile for last year’s JS13k competition. The concept is extremely simple: you are a ship surrounded by enemies. You shoot those enemies, only to have them replaced by progressively more, harder enemies. Eventually you’re overwhelmed, but you took out a lot of baddies on your way out.

I’ve spent I don’t know how many hours playing this game, and I’m sure I’ll spend even more. The graphics, sound effects and gameplay are all very solid. Not bad for 13kb of compressed JavaScript and a tight deadline. It works best with a mouse and a keyboard (not a trackpad, trust me).

Give it a play here. And let me know your high score in the comments.

Rob has been building websites for more than half of his life. You'd think that'd make all this less interesting, but nope! There's a lot of awesome stuff going on webwards, and canvas is definitely one of them.

I was able to get to 2,230. I am sure not even close to what you are capable of. What was your high score?
